Nikki Bella tweeted the following today after undergoing successful neck surgery on Wednesday
WWE And 2K Announce New Multi-Year Agreement.
WWE officials are reportedly planning on bringing Samoa Joe to the main roster after WrestleMania 32, possibly as soon as the post-WrestleMania RAW the next day.
Right now the plan is to debut Joe on that RAW but it was noted by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that creative plans could change, but plans are in motion to bring Joe up. There was at least talk of having Joe defeat Finn Balor for the NXT Title and extend their feud, which would obviously delay his main roster call-up.
There has also been a lot of consideration lately to calling Sami Zayn to the main roster for a feud with Kevin Owens.
Regarding Balor, it does not look like he will be called up after WrestleMania as officials are still looking at him to be the face of the NXT brand past March.
It was reported last fall that Lana got heat for leaking her real-life engagement to Rusev while being involved in a storyline relationship with Dolph Ziggler, causing that angle to end abruptly. Lana then got more heat for accusing Paige of being a bully on social media. Weeks later, she was reportedly not told about a line during a segment on RAW where Ryback claimed that she went all the way with Ziggler. It should be noted that Meltzer said that he didn't know if Lana's heat had anything to do with the Rock's promo on Monday night, and that there was no heat on Rusev.
At least some talents on the WWE roster were expecting Daniel Bryan to make his WWE return at the Royal Rumble on Sunday. While the return obviously did not happen, it was being talked about even though Bryan hasn't been cleared by WWE doctors. We noted last week that Bryan has been cleared by concussion specialists at UCLA, but not by WWE and Dr. Joseph Maroon.
At one point WWE officials reportedly told Bryan outright that he would not be cleared and he has been offered other non-wrestling roles in the company. Bryan later argued his case to Vince McMahon and Vince said Bryan probably wouldn't be cleared but didn't say 100%.
As noted earlier, AJ Styles' new theme music is a variation of DMX's Ain't No Sunshine. The beat to both songs are very similar, although the lyrics are completely different. AJ's theme was done by CFO$, who have created a lot of the current WWE themes, including the entrance music for Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Sasha Banks, Paige and many others. They also created Austin Aries' NXT theme.
In the promo below, WWE is advertising Triple H for the WWE live event on Sunday, February 7th at the Abbotsford Centre in Abbotsford, BC. It should be noted that neither WWE.com nor the official website of the Abbotsford Centre currently have Triple H listed for the event. Unless this is a glitch by the WWE advertising department, it would be the first time that Triple H has wrestled at a live event since a Madison Square Garden show in March of 2012, although he has appeared at several shows in a non-wrestling capacity.
Tuesday night's TNA Impact Wrestling, which Feast or Fired and new World Heavyweight Champion Matt Hardy, drew 339,000 viewers. This is up 6% from last week's 321,000 viewers.
Impact ranked #94 for the night on cable in the top 150, an improvement from last week's #112.
Byron Saxton will be hosting WWE's "Best of RAW and SmackDown 2015" DVD that comes out on February 9th.
Morale backstage at EVOLVE went up a lot when Triple H showed up at Saturday's show in Orlando. There were EVOLVE representatives at the WWE Royal Rumble on Sunday as well. Triple H and EVOLVE's Gabe Sapolsky reportedly had a long talk about the working relationship between WWE and WWN Live but nothing has been signed yet. According to PWInsider, there were some pretty interesting ideas discussed this past weekend.
We noted before via The Wrestling Observer that there was talk that Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows will debut in WWE NXT some time in March. PWInsider reports that talk going around says the if and when the two are signed to deals, it will be for the main roster and not NXT.
A fan on Twitter thanked Triple H for the AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho match on Monday's RAW but Jericho revealed that Vince McMahon made the match.
