John Cena's projected WWE return at SummerSlam will apparently not be hampered by his film commitments.

Cena is rumoured to be returning to WWE to face Universal Champion Roman Reigns at SummerSlam on August 21 in Las Vegas, as we previously reported. After being revealed for the new “Argylle” movie franchise last week, there was some speculation about Cena's return. In August, the first film in the franchise will begin filming in Europe.

Multiple sources now claim that Cena's return to SummerSlam will not be hampered by the filming of "Argylle" in Europe next month.

Cena's movie schedule is a "non-issue," according to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast, and he is still anticipated to wrestle at SummerSlam. Furthermore, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Cena's filming schedule isn't likely to be a problem for WWE, and whatever is planned for SummerSlam will go on as scheduled.

There's no indication yet on when Cena will return to the WWE storylines to restart his battle with Reigns. Since losing to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 37 in 2020, Cena has not been seen on WWE TV and has been absent from the company. This coming Sunday, Reigns will defend his title against WWE Hall of Famer Edge at Money In The Bank.

Keep an eye out for updates on Cena's situation.
